Francine Lacqua of Bloomberg receives knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy

Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta, yesterday presented Francine Lacqua, television anchor and Editor-at-large for Bloomberg, with the decoration of Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia (Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy) on behalf of the Italian president. The decoration was awarded in recognition of Lacqua’s achievements in the field of journalism and for the role she has played in guiding media narratives away from stereotypes and towards a more accurate depiction of the economic and financial situation in Italy.

In recent years Lacqua has participated in numerous events held by the embassy to promote Italian trade in the UK, notably Italian Imaginative Innovators (Triple I), a series of talks illustrating Italian entrepreneurial excellence and promoting an updated image of Italy that reflects the latest developments in the country’s economic recovery.

Since beginning her career at Bloomberg’s London office, Lacqua has been widely lauded for her talent as a TV presenter. She has hosted numerous programmes covering major events, including the World Economic Forum in Davos and the G20 summits, and has interviewed numerous high-profile international figures from the fields of politics and finance.
