Italian Day, FT Weekend Oxford Literary Festival 2019

Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta attended the FT Weekend Oxford Literary Festival for Italian Day on Friday 5 April. The festival, this year in its 22nd edition, is the largest literary event in the UK and was held at the campus of Oxford University.

Numerous Italian authors were present for the event, including Alessandro d’Avenia, Nicola Trapani, Cristina Dondi and Paola Diana.

Events included a talk by Professor Martin Kemp on Leonardo Da Vinci, to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the inventor’s death, and the launch of Ferdinand Addis’s latest book, Rome: Eternal City.

As part of his visit to Oxford for the festival, the ambassador visited the Ashmolean Museum and the Bodleian Library.
The event was generously supported by Frescobaldi.
