Godspeed Luca!

As the world celebrates Tomorrow’s 50th anniversary of the extraordinary and momentous accomplishment of Apollo XI landing on the Moon, European Space Agency Astronaut Luca Parmitano will blast off from the Roscosmos Cosmodrome in Baiknonur, Kazakhstan as part of the Soyuz MS-13 (59S) crew with destination the International Space Station. Luca will become the first Italian astronaut and only the third European to command the ISS from October, when the crews of Expedition 60/61 swap over.

ESA TV will cover all the action from 17:30 CEST (15:30 GMT), screening footage of the crew’s arrival and preparation in Baikonur as well as live launch day activities such as crew suit-up, walk-out and last wave as the trio board the launcher.
