Ambassador Trombetta hosts videoconference on trade promotion

In spite of an economic context that is currently somewhat difficult, with significantly reduced economic activity, the Embassy of Italy in London has begun planning trade-promotion initiatives in collaboration with various members of the sistema Italia in London, in view of a possible gradual relaunch of activities in Italy in the near future.

The ambassador, Raffaele Trombetta, chaired a videoconference attended by the directors of the Italian Trade Agency, the Chamber of Commerce, Banca d’Italia, the Italian Tourist Board and the embassy’s scientific attaché to begin the planning process.

Several initiatives have already been planned for the coming weeks, including a webinar on trade opportunities in the UK, particularly for Italian exporters, organised in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency, at which over two thousand Italian businesses have confirmed their attendance. Another videoconference will also be held with representatives of the biggest Italian companies in the UK, including banks, insurance companies and law firms, where they will be able to offer their views, discuss future prospects and clarify what support will be helpful.

A number of other joint promotional initiatives are also being planned in collaboration with both Italian and British actors.
The embassy is also maintaining regular contact with the large community of Italian scientists in the UK.
