Rules on travel between the UK and Italy are set out in the Prime Ministerial Decree of 2 March 2021, which is in force from 6 March to 30 April 2021; the Ministry of Health’s Ordinance of 2 April 2021, in force from 7 to 30 April 2021, and the Ministry of Health’s Ordinance of 16 April 2021.
The latest Ordinance introduces an online localisation form from Monday 19 April 2021. A paper version can be used in cases of technological impediment. The new rules require a negative covid-19 test for certain categories of travellers who were previously exempt (art. 1, section 2 of the Ordinance).
For updated information on exemptions from testing, quarantine and post-quarantine testing, see the Covid-19 Notices page of the Embassy website.
