First Italian National Space Day

Date:

12/16/2021

First Italian National Space Day

Today, 16 December, we celebrate the first Italian National Space Day to champion the importance and value of the “space economy” for the recovery and growth of the Italian economy.

In conjunction with this celebration, the Embassy of Italy in London proudly announces that on 28 February 2022 it will host a special networking event on Italian-UK space collaboration: “Space2Grow”.

Space2Grow is part of Italy4Innovation, an original series launched by the Embassy of Italy in London to promote a more structured collaboration between Italian and UK innovation ecosystems.

Space2Grow is organised in close partnership with Telespazio UK, a subsidiary of Telespazio (a 67/33% joint venture between Leonardo and Thales), and will feature senior speakers and representatives from the Italian, UK and European Space Agencies, the space industry and academia.

The event will focus on promoting Italian and UK Space collaboration as a catalyst for growth.

The key topics to be discussed include:

• Italy and the UK are key contributors to ESA and international missions

• How can collaboration between Italy and the UK help to deliver the UK national space strategy?

• The critical role of innovation in space for future growth

• The role of space in sustainability (climate and responsible use of space)

A formal invitation and an agenda will be circulated in due course.
