Visit of the Scientific Attachée at Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute - King’s College London– 28th February 2020
On 18 February 2020 Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta and the science attaché, Luisa Tondelli, visited the Royal Free Hospital, one of the two main medical campuses of University College London (UCL) and a renowned teaching hospital. They were received by Professor Giuseppe Kito Fusai, a surgeon specialising in hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery and liver transplants and president of the Italian Medical Society of Great Britain (IMSoGB). The Ambassador visited some of the most important clinical and surgical departments, ending with an informal meeting of the head of the academic department, Professor Massimo Pinzani, and with some of the many Italian doctors who work at the hospital.

The sixth edition of the Talented Young Italians Award was held on 28 November 2019 at Church House in Westminster. The awards, an initiative by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK, recognise Italians who have excelled in the UK while maintaining close links with Italy, contributing to collaboration between the two countries. This year the winners in the Research and Innovation category were Giuseppe Bianchi (research fellow and project manager at the Institute of Energy Futures of Brunel University London, Centre for Sustainable Energy Use in Food Chains) and Paolo Taticchi (principal teaching fellow in management and sustainability & executive director of global student experience at Imperial College Business School London).
