On October 2, 2025, the Embassy of Italy in London hosted “Italian Jewellery: Crafting Beauty Through Innovation and Heritage”, an event organised in cooperation with the Italian Trade Agency and Confindustria Federorafi.
The initiative celebrated the excellence of Italian jewellery, internationally recognised for its unique ability to combine artisanal heritage, technological innovation, and sustainability. The United Kingdom today stands as the leading European market for jewellery consumption, valued at over €5 billion, where Italian companies play a key role thanks to their creativity, reliability, and world-class manufacturing standards. “Hosting this event in London is a very special way to celebrate the excellence of our goldsmith companies, but also to strengthen the dialogue with a market of extraordinary importance such as the British one. It is an opportunity to show how beauty, sustainability, and innovation are shared values deeply rooted in Italian know-how,” said the Depunty Head of Mission, Riccardo Smimmo.
Following the opening remarks by the Deputy Head of Mission, Riccardo Smimmo, and the Director of the Italian Trade Agency in London, Giovanni Sacchi, the programme was moderated by Sennait Ghebreab (Istituto Marangoni and Vogue Italia) and featured distinguished representatives of the sector: Maria Cristina Squarcialupi (UNOAERRE and CHIMET), Damiano Zito (PROGOLD), Enrico Peruffo (Fratelli Bovo), Claudia Piaserico (FOPE) and Alessia Crivelli (Crivelli). Their contributions addressed key themes such as circularity and sustainability, technological research, high-quality subcontracting, and the balance between craftsmanship and innovation.
A second panel spotlighted Co.Ro. Jewels’ founders, Giulia Giannini and Costanza De Cecco, who shared their journey of female entrepreneurship, their vision of translating architecture into contemporary jewellery, and their special project Co.Ro. X The Shard.
The evening was enriched by an exclusive exhibition hosted in the Embassy, featuring masterpieces from ten Italian brands: Crivelli, D’Orica, Fope, Fratelli Bovo, Graziella Braccialini, Karizia, Peruffo, Progold, Unoaerre, and Co.Ro. Jewels. Open only for this special occasion, the showcase offered guests a unique opportunity to admire, in one setting, the finest expression of Italian creativity and craftsmanship.
