Embassies and consulates provide services to foreign nationals as well as their own nationals. These services include issuing entry visas to Italy and to the Schengen area, authenticating documents, issuing administrative documents such as life certificates, and certifying translated deeds. Where required by law, embassies and consulates also transmit deeds and documents to the Italian authorities.
