{"id":34,"date":"2022-11-24T15:07:13","date_gmt":"2022-11-24T14:07:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amblondra.esteri.it\/chi-siamo\/"},"modified":"2026-04-02T12:51:41","modified_gmt":"2026-04-02T10:51:41","slug":"chi-siamo","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/amblondra.esteri.it\/en\/chi-siamo\/","title":{"rendered":"About us"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<strong>Italian Embassy in London<\/strong> is one of the most important Italian bilateral embassies in the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"boxLevel03\">On the basis of the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/legal.un.org\/ilc\/texts\/instruments\/english\/conventions\/9_1_1961.pdf\">Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of 18 April, 1961, the embassy\u2019s functions include the following:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Represent Italy in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Safeguard the interests of Italy and its citizens, within the limits set by international law;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Negotiate with the government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Gather information, by any legal means, on conditions and events in the United Kingdom and report back to the Italian State;<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Promote friendly relations and develop economic, cultural and scientific collaborations between Italy and the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>This Embassy coordinates a network comprising\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amblondra.esteri.it\/ambasciata_londra\/en\/ambasciata\/la-rete-consolare\">three consulates<\/a><\/strong> (London, Manchester and Edinburgh), two cultural institutes (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icilondon.esteri.it\/iic_londra\/en\/\">London<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iicedimburgo.esteri.it\/iic_edimburgo\/en\/\">Edinburgh<\/a><\/strong>), an\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.italtrade.com\/\">Italian Trade Agency<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Office and an\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enit.it\/en\/foreign-offices\/europa\/london.html\">Italian National Tourist Board<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0Office. The Embassy comprises\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amblondra.esteri.it\/ambasciata_londra\/en\/ambasciata\/gli_uffici\">a number of departments<\/a><\/strong>, staffed by personnel of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as well as by staff from other ministries and public institutions.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian consulates in London and Edinburgh provide a range of consular services to both Italian and foreign nationals who live in the consulates\u2019 respective catchment areas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The\u00a0Italian Embassy in London is one of the most important Italian bilateral embassies in the world.
