The prizes are awarded in recognition of the work of young UK-based Italian researchers who completed at least part of their studies in Italy. The initiative is run by the embassy and is supported by Niccol\u00f2 Cusano University, the cultural association <em>Il Circolo<\/em> and <em>Consulcesi Group and Farmaco Italiano<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The selection panel was headed by Professor <strong>Carla Molteni<\/strong> and was made up of members of the Association of Italian Scientists in the UK (AISUK) and the Italian Medical Society of Great Britain (IMSOGB). During the ceremony, Professor <strong>Antonio Guarino<\/strong>, the head of AISUK, explained how the panel had selected the winning projects, which were divided into three categories: Life Sciences, Engineering Sciences and Social Sciences &#038; Humanities.<\/p>\n<p>The prizes were presented by the ambassador, <strong>Raffaele Trombetta<\/strong>, who congratulated the winners and explained that the Italy Made Me awards celebrate and support the outstanding work carried out by Italian researchers working in British science and academia, who are able to take advantage of experience acquired in both countries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">WINNERS OF ITALY MADE ME 2018<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Serena Lucotti<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cTargeting prostanoid biosynthesis during metastasis: the therapeutic potential of aspirin and beyond\u201d.
