For the first time in 33 years, the renowned auction house Christie\u2019s has devoted a whole afternoon to showcase the excellence of \u201cGrand Cru\u201d Italian wines. The auction, which takes place today, 15 March, offers an opportunity to promote some of the highest profile Italian wine labels. The growing interest by the international market is a testament to the excellence of Italian producers in this ever-growing sector.<\/p>\n
The Italian Embassy in the UK hosted, yesterday, a tasting in support of Italian high-quality wine production for more than 120 international wine collectors and suppliers, organised together with the Italian Trade Commission<\/strong>, Christie\u2019s<\/strong> and the Comitato Grandi Cru d\u2019Italia<\/strong> (Italian Committee for Grand Cru wines).<\/p>\n Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta<\/strong>\u2019s guests at the event, included Christie\u2019s CEO Guillaume Cerutti<\/strong>, senior manager of Christie\u2019s Italy, Cristiano De Lorenzo<\/strong>, the director of Christie\u2019s Wine, Tim Triptree<\/strong>, the deputy head of the Italian Committee for Grandi Cru Wine, Paolo Panerai<\/strong> and the director of the London Office of the Italian Trade Commission, Roberto Luongo<\/strong>. The wine tasting provided a platform to offer a wide wine selection provided by some of the most prominent Italian wine producers, including: Antinori, Argiola, Barone Ricasoli, Bertani, Biondi-Santi, Ca\u2019 del Bosco, Campogiovanni-San Felice, Castello Banfi, Cavallotto, Col D\u2019Orcia, Domini Castellare di Castellina, F\u00e8lsina, Ferrari, Frescobaldi, Michele Chiarlo, Oasi degli Angeli, Ornellaia, Planeta, Rocche dei Manzoni, Tedeschi e Tenuta San Guido.<\/p>\n
