It showcases the most advanced scientific and technical innovations applied to flying: civil and commercial aviation, defence, aerospace technology and aeronautics. Italy has an important presence with a pavilion coordinated by the <strong>Italian Trade Agency<\/strong> (ICE). Stands from the principal air-space companies are present alongside a large pavilion of the<strong> Leonardo Group<\/strong> (formerly Finmeccanica).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Today, on the occasion of the opening of what is one of the greatest international fairs of the aeronautical-defence sector, the Minister of Education and Research Sen. <strong>Stefania Giannini<\/strong>, the President of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) <strong>Roberto Battiston<\/strong>, and the Italian Defence Committee of the Italian Parliament led by its Head, Hon. <strong>Francesco Saverio Garofani<\/strong>, visited the Italian pavilions. The Presidents of the Lombardia and Lazio regions, respectively <strong>Roberto Maroni<\/strong> and <strong>Nicola Zingaretti<\/strong> were also present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Italian Ambassador to the United Kingdom,<strong> Pasquale Terracciano<\/strong>, visited the Leonardo &#8211; Finmeccanica pavilion during a presentation during which CEO <strong>Mauro Moretti<\/strong> presented, among other things, the name change of the multinational Group. Mr. Moretti stated that the change is \u201cmore than just a name\u201d and that it goes hand in hand with a thorough reorganisation of the Group.
