The message is clear: a new vocabulary of doing business with Italy, which also mediates in the relationship between investors and tax authorities, has been developed. In addition to the Italian government\u2019s reforms aiming to promote and increase investments in Italy, tax authorities are playing a fundamental role in supporting the economic recovery, as they periodically cooperate with other administrations and regulatory bodies. Underpinning the new system, the revenue agency-investors relationship (and the revenue agency-taxpayers in general) is shifting its centre of gravity from ex-post checks and controls to coordinated ex-ante operations, which allows for a more open and transparent international fiscal cooperation.

The following speakers took part in \u201cA New Vocabulary of Doing\u00a0 Business in Italy \u2013 Certainty, co-operation, transparency for innovative dialogue between investors and tax authorities<\/STRONG>\u201d: Vieri Ceriani<\/STRONG>, Advisor to the Italian Minister of Economy and Finance; Colin Powell<\/STRONG>, Adviser International Affairs, Chief Minister\u2019s Department the Government of Jersey; Emiliana Bandettini<\/STRONG>, Director, Assessment Department, Italian Revenue Agency and Antonio Martino<\/STRONG> Head of UCIFI, Italian Revenue Agency, as well as representatives from the law firm Belluzzo & Partners, who collaborated in the organisation of the workshop.
The workshop was opened by Ambassador Pasquale Terracciano<\/STRONG>, who presented it as part of a series of events organised by the Embassy aiming to provide regular updates to the London business community on the state of the economic climate in Italy. The audience consisted of around 80 participants including investors, financial managers, legal experts, and consultants. The international audience followed carefully the new implications of the most recent Italian directive regarding voluntary disclosure, as well as the new revenue agency-taxpayers relationship, which focuses on recent innovations regarding investments in the country and the new procedure of arrangements with creditors.
