Answering this question was the aim of today\u2019s forum on \u201c<STRONG>Equity Investments in Italy, a new wave?<\/STRONG>\u201d.<BR><BR>The event took place at\u00a0the Italian Embassy in London,\u00a0at the direction\u00a0of <STRONG>Ambassador Pasquale Terracciano<\/STRONG>, and was organised in collaboration with <STRONG>Legance<\/STRONG> law firm, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.\u00a0Several influential representatives of the economic-financial community took part, including: <STRONG>Carlotta de Franceschi<\/STRONG>, Economic Advisor to Prime Minister Renzi; <STRONG>Marco Gay<\/STRONG>, President of Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs; <STRONG>Domenico Siniscalco<\/STRONG>, Vice Chairman, Morgan Stanley Europe; <STRONG>Giuseppe Castagna<\/STRONG>, CEO, Banca Popolare di Milano. The discussions were moderated by <STRONG>Leonardo Maisano<\/STRONG>, London correspondent, <EM>Il Sole 24 Ore<\/EM>\u00a0financial daily, <STRONG>Brunello Rosa<\/STRONG>, Head, Western Europe and G10 Sovereign Rates Strategy, Roubini Global Economics and by <STRONG>Rachel Sanderson<\/STRONG>, the Financial Times correspondent in Milan.<\/P><P>The event was organised in four discussion Panels which provided a close examination of the investment climate in Italy and of its external and internal circumstances, including the European Central Bank\u2019s QE, the decline in petrol prices, but also the effects of the Italian government\u2019s structural reforms, which are contributing to making the investment climate more dynamic and attractive.<BR><BR>Changes in the legal and regulatory framework were analysed and compared to the previous challenging context, as were: potential opportunities offered by new long-term investments, equity investments, the consolidation of the Italian banking system, and the examination of the most dynamic sectors of a productive system which is still exposed to geopolitical risk, but which is also capable of emerging from the crisis and accessing emerging foreign markets.<BR><BR>The conference was part of an on-going series of events and meetings which are being promoted and coordinated by this Embassy with a view to providing London-based professionals working in the economic and financial sectors with frequent updates on Italian reforms and outlook on investment opportunities in Italy.<BR><BR><BR><IMG border=\"0\" alt=\"Equity Investments in Italy Panel discussions\" src=\"\/resource\/2015\/03\/40807_f_IMG_1832WEB1.jpg\"><BR><EM>Ambassador Terracciano makes the opening remarks ahead of the Four Panel sessions\u00a0on &#8220;Equity Investments <BR>in Italy, a new wave?&#8221;<\/EM><BR><BR><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"How favourable is it at present to \u201cBuy Italy\u201d?\u00a0 This question summarizes the dynamism of the Italian economy and of its productive fabric, which are finally being supported by the first signals of recovery in the latest indexes referring to industrial production, growth and employment.
