Ambassador Pasquale Terracciano<\/STRONG> attended several events at the University of Cambridge<\/STRONG> during a two-day visit aiming to highlight Italian studies at the prestigious university. The Ambassador\u00a0was also given a tour\u00a0of the Fitzwilliam Museum<\/STRONG><\/A>, where two loaned bronzes, on show at the museum, were recently attributed to Michelangelo.

The Ambassador met with Italian academics and academics studying Italian subjects at the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, who presented short overviews of their research in their respective areas of study. He also took the opportunity to meet and hold a discussion with a class of undergraduates who are\u00a0studying Italian.<\/P>

The visit to Cambridge University, as in the case of a recent previous meeting with representatives of its scientific centres<\/A> of excellence, is part of a series of initiatives\u00a0by this Embassy\u00a0in support of\u00a0the significant Italian presence at universities and\u00a0research centres in the United Kingdom.
