This laboratory is an innovative structure, resulting from a partnership between Leicester\u2019s Hospitals and Italian company Ingegneria Biomedica Santa Lucia (<A title=\"website of the Italian medical group \" href=\"http:\/\/www.gruppogiglio.it\/\">IBSL<\/A>), which allows for increased accuracy in drug delivery to patients\u00a0and significant\u00a0cost reduction\u00a0for the hospital.<BR><BR>Ambassador Terracciano attended the ceremony for the opening of the laboratory,\u00a0whose completion is\u00a0both a\u00a0mark of\u00a0Italian excellence\u00a0in this\u00a0specific medical sector\u00a0and also\u00a0the\u00a0result of\u00a0fruitful cooperation between Italy and the UK.\u00a0<STRONG>Bruno Giglio<\/STRONG> (CEO of IBSL), <STRONG>John Adler<\/STRONG> (Chief Executive at Leicester\u2019s Hospitals),<STRONG> Karamijit Sing<\/STRONG> (CBE Chairman at Leicester\u2019s Hospitals) and other representatives of IBSL\u00a0also attended the ceremony.<\/P><P>Following the visit to the laboratory of the UHL Hospital Group,\u00a0Ambassador Terracciano\u00a0visited the University of Leicester, where he was welcomed by <STRONG>Simona Storchi PhD<\/STRONG>, Director of the <A title=\"Department of Italian Studies - University of Leicester\" href=\"http:\/\/www2.le.ac.uk\/departments\/modern-languages\/people-1\/italian\">Department of Italian Studies<\/A>.<BR><BR><BR><BR>&#8211; <EM><A title=\"website of the University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL)\" href=\"http:\/\/www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk\/aboutus\/our-news\/press-release-centre\/?entryid8=31093\">University Hospitals of Leicester press release<\/A><BR><BR><\/EM><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Ambassador of Italy\u00a0to the UK, Pasquale Terracciano, visited the\u00a0University Hospitals of Leicester yesterday\u00a0to attend the\u00a0opening\u00a0of\u00a0the &#8220;Optimed ID Unit Dose Laboratory&#8220;.
