The initiative was organised in collaboration with the online magazine ThePlatform.<\/p>\n
The event, the third in the series, focused on one of the greatest names in Italian fashion: Dolce&Gabbana, and highlighted the Italy-UK connection in a discussion featuring CEO Alfonso Dolce. The event coincided with the lead-up to Milan Fashion Week, for which Dolce&Gabbana will be holding a fashion show on 21 September, currently being prepared by the designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.<\/p>\n
Alfonso Dolce spoke to Maria Silvia Sacchi, founder and director of ThePlatform, about how the Dolce&Gabbana brand is inextricably linked to Italy and the unique abilities of Italian artisans. They examined concrete examples testifying to a savoir-faire that is envied around the world. This skill is celebrated in the exhibition \u201cFrom the Heart to the Hands: Dolce&Gabbana\u201d, premiered at Palazzo Reale in Milan, which will soon tour the world\u2019s most prominent cultural centres.<\/p>\n
The conversation with Alfonso Dolce, organised with the support of PwC, was the third in a series that will continue in the coming months, telling the story of Italian fashion in the words of its protagonists in all parts of the production process, particularly the entrepreneurial and industrial aspects.<\/p>\n
The cycle was opened in April by Luca Sburlati, CEO of Pattern Group, a company specialised in the design, engineering, development, prototyping, and production of clothing lines, followed by an appointment with Renzo Rosso, founder of OTB, the holding company which heads brands such as Diesel, Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni, and Viktor&Rolf.<\/p>\n
The next appointments will feature Carlo Capasa, president of the Chamber of Fashion, and Sergio Tamborini, CEO of Ratti and president of Sistema Moda Italia.<\/p>\n
