{"id":3698,"date":"2024-11-13T12:47:42","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T11:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amblondra.esteri.it\/?p=3698"},"modified":"2024-11-13T12:49:00","modified_gmt":"2024-11-13T11:49:00","slug":"italian-threads-conversations-on-fashion-ep-4-the-culture-of-italian-textiles-partners-in-fashion-houses-around-the-world","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amblondra.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2024\/11\/italian-threads-conversations-on-fashion-ep-4-the-culture-of-italian-textiles-partners-in-fashion-houses-around-the-world\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian threads: conversations on fashion Ep. 4: The culture of Italian textiles \u2013 partners in fashion houses around the world"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On 12 November the Embassy of Italy hosted the fourth episode of \u201c<strong>Italian threads: conversations on fashion<\/strong>\u201d, a series run by the embassy, in collaboration with the online journal ThePlatform, dedicated to one of Italy\u2019s most iconic industries: fashion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event, entitled \u201cThe culture of Italian textiles \u2013 partners in fashion houses around the world\u201d, featured one of the world\u2019s oldest and biggest silk producers, the B-corps Ratti.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CEO of <strong>Ratti<\/strong>, <strong>Sergio Tamborini<\/strong>, who is also the president of Sistema Moda Italia, was in conversation with <strong>Maria Silvia Sacchi<\/strong>, founder and director of online magazine <strong>ThePlatform. <\/strong>He told the story of the brand and described the production processes and explore where top-quality Italian silk products are found in London, tracing a contemporary plan of the city based on maps drawn by British artist Jenni Sparks for Evermade. They also discussed the strengths of the Italian fashion production line, the only one that has maintained all its production stages almost intact.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There was also a demonstration of traditional hand printing using 19<sup>th<\/sup>-century planches from the Ratti archive in Guanzate in the province of Como.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This event concludes the series \u201cItalian threads: conversations on fashion\u201d launched by Maria Silvia Sacchi, which has showcased some of the most important names in Italian fashion.
