London, March 20, 2025 \u2013 The Italian Embassy in London hosted the presentation of the ninth edition of the Lerici Music Festival. The evening featured the Artistic Directors of the Festival, Giuseppe Bruno and Gianluca Marcian\u00f2, who introduced the 2025 program titled “Music, Image, Movement”, along with Jill Segal, Head of International Development for the festival, who spoke about the event’s expansion and the role of London and its international audience in supporting it.<\/p>\n

“Under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Bruno and Gianluca Marcian\u00f2, this festival has grown into an internationally significant cultural event, bringing world-class music to one of Italy\u2019s most enchanting locations: the Gulf of Poets,” said Ambassador Inigo Lambertini in his opening remarks. The evening concluded with a live performance by harpist Alexander Boldachev and soprano Betty Makharinsky, offering a glimpse of the extraordinary musical quality that defines the Festival.<\/p>\n

Lerici Music Festival 2025 \u2013 “Music, Image, Movement”<\/p>\n

The 2025 edition of the Lerici Music Festival will take place from July 24 to August 4, featuring a rich musical program ranging from Baroque music to opera, symphonic concerts to chamber music, as well as jazz and musical theatre.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s central theme, “Music, Image, Movement”, will unfold through an artistic journey that celebrates the power of memory through music and art, emphasizing culture\u2019s essential role as a tool for dialogue and reflection.<\/p>\n

Among the most highly anticipated events are evenings dedicated to great cinema and classical music, creating a perfect fusion of image and sound. The festival will open with a tribute to Hollywood soundtracks, featuring works by Sherman Bros, Bernstein, and Gershwin performed by exceptional artists. The historic Fortezza Firmafede will set the stage for captivating productions such as “Tchaikovsky in Cinema”, exploring the Russian composer\u2019s influence on film music, and “La Trag\u00e9die de Carmen”, a reinterpretation of Bizet\u2019s opera.<\/p>\n

A standout moment will be the performance of “The King\u2019s Speech”, featuring music by Bruch, Mozart, and Beethoven under the direction of Pinchas Zukerman. Silent cinema will come to life with a screening of Buster Keaton\u2019s “Sherlock Jr.”, accompanied by a live musical score. The festival will conclude with “Cinema & Opera”, a journey through the most celebrated arias by Puccini, Tosti, and Denza, performed by the extraordinary soprano Carmen Giannattasio.<\/p>\n

The performances will take place in stunning historical venues, including Fortezza Firmafede, Villa Marigola, the Church of San Francesco, and the Marinella Beach Club.<\/p>\n
