It offers a unique opportunity for Italian and British professionals to connect. The initiative is held in the context of the <strong data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"786\">London Games Festival<\/strong>, one of the world\u2019s leading events dedicated to the video game industry, promoted by Games London and held annually in the city to support the development of the video games sector in the UK and beyond. This year, a delegation of six Italian game development studios will participate in the <strong data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1102\">Games Finance Market<\/strong>, showcasing their work and building new relationships with industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1186\" data-end=\"1627\">The partnership between the Italian and UK video game industries will continue with <strong data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1288\">First Playable<\/strong>, the premier business event for the gaming sector in Italy, taking place from 10 to 13 June 2025 in Florence. In collaboration with Games London, the British Film Institute has launched a call to select seven UK-based independent developers who will attend the Italian event, gaining access to panels, talks, and networking opportunities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1629\" data-end=\"2229\">In 2023, the Italian video game sector reached a market value of <strong data-start=\"1694\" data-end=\"1710\">\u20ac2.3 billion<\/strong>, marking a <strong data-start=\"1722\" data-end=\"1737\">5% increase<\/strong> from 2022 and a <strong data-start=\"1754\" data-end=\"1770\">28% increase<\/strong> since 2019. There were <strong data-start=\"1794\" data-end=\"1815\">13 million gamers<\/strong> in Italy, representing <strong data-start=\"1839\" data-end=\"1877\">31% of the population aged 6 to 64<\/strong>. The industry included <strong data-start=\"1901\" data-end=\"1935\">160 active development studios<\/strong> and employed <strong data-start=\"1949\" data-end=\"1972\">2,400 professionals<\/strong> in 2022. Updated 2024 figures will be presented by IIDEA on <strong data-start=\"2033\" data-end=\"2053\">15 April in Rome<\/strong> during the event <em data-start=\"2071\" data-end=\"2136\">\u201cVideo Games in Italy in 2024: Market, Consumers, and Industry\u201d<\/em>, hosted by the Ministry of Culture as part of the <em data-start=\"2187\" data-end=\"2215\">National Made in Italy Day<\/em> celebrations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2231\" data-end=\"2931\">Dr. <strong data-start=\"2235\" data-end=\"2255\">Umberto Bernardo<\/strong>, Head of the Economic Office at the Embassy of Italy in London, stated:<br data-start=\"2327\" data-end=\"2330\" \/><em data-start=\"2330\" data-end=\"2931\">&#8220;The video game industry in Italy is a key sector for innovation and is constantly growing, with increasing potential in the global market. Hosting this event at the Embassy of Italy in London, within the framework of National Made in Italy Day, is a strong signal of our commitment to promoting Italian talent and creating strategic connections with the UK, one of the most important markets for the sector.
