﻿{"id":5773,"date":"2025-12-12T13:56:02","date_gmt":"2025-12-12T12:56:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amblondra.esteri.it\/?p=5773"},"modified":"2025-12-12T13:57:48","modified_gmt":"2025-12-12T12:57:48","slug":"italy-made-me-2025-prizes-awarded-to-young-italian-researchers-in-the-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amblondra.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dall_ambasciata\/2025\/12\/italy-made-me-2025-prizes-awarded-to-young-italian-researchers-in-the-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Italy Made Me 2025 prizes awarded to young Italian researchers in the UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On 10 December 2025 the Embassy of Italy in London hosted the prizegiving ceremony for the winners of <em>Italy Made Me 2025<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under this initiative, run by this embassy thanks to the generous support of sponsors, prizes are awarded to Italian early-career researchers based in the UK who have completed some or all of their studies in Italy and who have achieved excellence in one of the sectors defined by the European Research Council: Life Sciences (LS), Physical and Engineering Sciences (PE), Social Sciences and Humanities (SH).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2025 the winners were:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>In the Life Sciences category: <strong>Marco De Donatis<\/strong>, with the project <em>Addressing vascular and immunological features of pancreatic cancer lung metastasis<\/em>, and <strong>Laura Piovani<\/strong>, for <em>Tracing animal evolution through single-cell genomics;<\/em><\/li>\n<li>In the Social Sciences and Humanities category: <strong>Francesca Bellazzi<\/strong>, for her study entitled <em>FunMo: Functionality at the Molecular Scale,<\/em> and <strong>Carmen Silvestri<\/strong> for <em>Italian as a Heritage Language in London: An Ethnographic Perspective on Identity and Pedagogy;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>In the <em>Physical and Engineering Sciences <\/em>category: <strong>Andrea Barbiero<\/strong>, for his research on <em>Powering the Quantum Internet: High-Performance Semiconductor Photon Sources for Fiber-Based Quantum Networks<\/em>; <strong>Camilla Di Mino<\/strong>, with <em>Investigating Molecular Interactions in Model Liquid Systems for Materials Design<\/em>; and <strong>Giovanni Pugliese Carratelli<\/strong>, for <em>Fundamental Limits of Variance and Feedback in Stochastic Biological Systems<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event included the announcement of the winners of the <strong>Paravani-Mellinghoff scholarship<\/strong>, the <strong>Talented Young Italians Awards<\/strong>, and <strong>Il Circolo Awards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Embassy wishes to thank the sponsors of Italy Made Me 2025 \u2013 <strong>David Y Mason Foundation, Dottore London, Il Circolo, Pirelli, Trenitalia UK, Callipo<\/strong> \u2013 whose generous support made this initiative possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"On 10 December 2025 the Embassy of Italy in London hosted the prizegiving ceremony for the winners of Italy Made Me 2025.
