During his visit to London, the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana<\/strong>, together with Ambassador Inigo Lambertini <\/strong>met with the Speaker of the House of Commons, Sir Lindsay Hoyle<\/strong>, for an exchange of views on key parliamentary priorities and on opportunities to further strengthen cooperation between the Italian and British legislative institutions.<\/p>\n

On the same occasion, President Fontana inaugurated the Italian Pavilion<\/strong> at the London Book Fair<\/strong>, one of the leading international events for the publishing industry. During the visit to the Pavilion, he met with Giovanni Sacchi<\/strong>, Director of the London office of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE)<\/strong>, and Francesco Bongarr\u00e0<\/strong>, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in London<\/strong>, with whom he discussed initiatives aimed at promoting Italian culture and publishing in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n

During the visit, President Fontana also awarded the honour of Officer of the Order of the Star of Italy<\/strong> to Alberto Costa MP<\/strong>, Member of the House of Commons and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Italy<\/strong>, in recognition of his longstanding efforts to foster relations between Italy and the United Kingdom and to promote parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
