Contemporary Italian art was celebrated at Italy at Frieze<\/em><\/strong>, an exhibition that was held on Thursday 3 October at the Embassy of Italy in London. The one-of-a-kind event in London was part of the programme of the art fairs Frieze London<\/a><\/strong> and Frieze Masters<\/a><\/strong>, which draw collectors and art lovers from around the world.<\/p>\n

Italy at Frieze<\/em>, curated by Flavia Frigeri<\/strong>, explored the paths and languages that Italian artists experimented with from the post-war period to the present, based on the theme \u201cUnique forms of continuity in space\u201d.<\/p>\n

Fourteen galleries each exhibited one of the works that they are exhibiting at the Frieze fairs. From Michelangelo Pistoletto to Carla Accardi, from Agostino Bonalumi to Francesco Vezzoli, the works highlighted the great variety of styles and messages that Italian artists have expressed in recent decades, translating the codes and spirit of the time into art. The participation of Michelangelo Pistoletto<\/strong> and Attilio Quintili<\/strong>, two of the artists whose works were exhibited during the evening, were present, adding value and prestige to the event.<\/p>\n

This exhibition represents an important moment for Italian cultural diplomacy in the United Kingdom and is part of the celebrations of the Italian Contemporary Art Day<\/a><\/strong>, this year in its 15th edition. In the last few years, Italian Contemporary Art Day has gone international, with events being held at Italian embassies, consulates and cultural institutes, thanks to collaboration between the Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums<\/strong> and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
