Travelling to the UK and the EUSS: Updates and Impacts. Free Webinar Organised by Comites

Intercomites UK

Travelling to the United Kingdom and the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS): what changes are being introduced with the new requirements related to the ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) and the eVisa for European citizens, and what are the latest updates regarding the EUSS. These are the topics that will be covered in the new free webinar organised by the Intercomites of the United Kingdom (comprising Comites di Londra, Comites di Manchester, Comites di Scozia e Irlanda del Nord), in collaboration with the charity   Settled.

The webinar will take place on Tuesday 4 March, starting at 6.00 pm (UK time). To follow it live, simply connect via the Comites social media channels, in particular the Comites London profiles on Facebook and YouTube.

After an introduction and an initial overview by the webinar coordinators—Laura Landi (Comites Scotland and Northern Ireland), Anna Cambiaggi (Comites London) and Cesare Ardito (Comites Manchester)—the floor will be given to the speakers Aisha Farina, Daniela Vicini and Veronica Bortolato from Settled, a charity founded in 2019 to support EU citizens living in the UK whose rights have been affected by Brexit.

Please note that from 2 April—with applications open from 5 March, the day after the webinar—Italian citizens and, more broadly, citizens of EU countries travelling to the UK as tourists or visitors will be required to apply for an ETA before departure. The ETA is not a visa, but a prior electronic travel authorisation required for foreign nationals who are not resident in the UK and who are currently exempt from visa requirements for short stays of up to six months.

Similarly, foreign nationals resident in the UK with a status or visa will be required to demonstrate possession of an eVisa; for holders of pre-settled or settled status, the eVisa is simply the digital account linked to their status.

During the webinar, various scenarios will be explored (for example, family members holding non-EU citizenship), as well as best practices to ensure smooth travel.
