The Italian Embassy in London proudly hosted the celebration of Italian National Day, marking the 80th anniversary of the Italian Republic.
On 2 June 1946, Italian citizens – including, for the first time, Italian women – took part in a historic referendum and chose the Republic as the foundation of modern Italy.
We celebrate the enduring values of freedom, democracy and unity that have guided our country for the past eight decades and continue to inspire Italy’s commitment at home and around the world.
