On the 5th May “La Scuola Italiana di Londra” became the first Italian school to host a presentation of Google Expedition, a digital educational programme which provides school children with virtual reality experiences.

Through the use of a simple cardboard mask, a smartphone and a tablet controlled by the teacher, the programme allows pupils to enter virtual reality, making them capable to explore various environments such as the open Space, the barrier Reef or the moon.

The students were able to orientate themselves in each location, following the indications of the teacher who could focus the attention of the group pointing at specific objects, adding notes and descriptions.

The programme aims at providing teachers and children with an innovative and interactive learning tool, making easier and funnier for students to understand notions and concepts.
