Borsa Italiana STAR and AIM Conference in London

London City investors meet companies listed on Borsa Italiana

The London leg of Borsa Italiana’s annual road show was held from 22 to 24 October, bringing together international investors and Italian listed companies in order to facilitate internationalisation, growth and investment.

The event began on 22 October with the first edition of the AIM Italia conference. The conference, attended by the 25 companies listed on AIM Italia, the segment dedicated to innovative SMEs with high growth potential, brought together businesses and investors, with over 1100 one-to-one meetings held focusing on SMEs.

The day concluded with a networking reception at the Embassy of Italy, attended by representatives of participating companies, visiting from Italy, and figures from the London-based international business community. Speeches were given by the ambassador, Raffaele Trombetta, and the head of Borsa Italiana, Professor Andrea Sironi. The ambassador highlighted the importance of the collaboration between the Embassy of Italy in London and Borsa Italiana and the close partnership between Borsa Italiana and the London Stock Exchange Group. He also observed that Borsa Italiana is a vital resource for Italy’s economy, offering a major platform for sourcing capital and supporting the flotation and growth of Italian businesses.

The evening’s event, like other economic public-diplomacy events held by the embassy, aimed to present and promote some of the leading Italian SMEs to the London financial community. The success of the event was testimony to Italian institutions’ support for the internationalisation and grow of Italy’s economic system.

The STAR conference, held over the next two days, focused on the 56 companies listed on Borsa Italiana’s STAR segment, which includes the top medium-sized Italian businesses. About 1,000 one-to-one meetings were held with approximately 140 investors representing over 100 mainly foreign investment companies.
