London, January 13, 2025 – The Italian Embassy in London had the pleasure of hosting the presentation of the book “Il regno fragile. Le difficoltà della Corona, gli effetti della Brexit, la svolta laburista” by Tiziana Prezzo. The author, in conversation with Professor Vittorio Emanuele Parsi, discussed the major changes and pivotal events that have shaped the United Kingdom in recent years during an event moderated by journalist Alessandra Rizzo.

Prezzo, the London correspondent for Sky Tg24, recounted through extensive investigative work across the four nations of the UK how various destabilizing factors and a rapid succession of events have created a climate of uncertainty in Britain: the UK’s departure from the European Union and its resulting impact on the British economy, the passing of Queen Elizabeth II after over 70 years on the throne, the rise of separatist movements in Northern Ireland and Scotland, and a series of political scandals that contributed to the Labour Party, led by Keir Starmer, returning to power after 14 years. In this context, the Crown remains a symbol of stability, but the aging monarch, King Charles III, faces challenges from his health and a growing disenchantment, particularly among younger generations, with the institution he represents.

The author discussed these delicate transitions during a lively exchange with Professor Parsi, who also authored the book’s preface.

“I sincerely thank journalist Tiziana Prezzo for sharing her experience and expertise, the result of years of work as a correspondent in the United Kingdom, and Professor Vittorio Emanuele Parsi, whose preface enriches the book with an academic and strategic perspective. Special thanks also go to Alessandra Rizzo, who skillfully guided the discussion with great professionalism,” stated Ambassador Inigo Lambertini.

Tiziana Prezzo has been with Sky Tg24 since 2003, working for many years as a correspondent in war zones and crisis areas before being appointed as the London correspondent. Vittorio Emanuele Parsi is a political scientist and professor of international relations at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, while Alessandra Rizzo currently serves as head of Sky News online.
