Federica Guidi, Minister of Economic Development, met with numerous investors at this Embassy today.
A first meeting which took place in a roundtable format, was attended by almost thirty venture capitalists and angel investors. Minister Guidi later took part in the panel “Perspectives on Corporate Italia”, which was attended by a further 80 investors, and presented an opportunity to highlight the latest developments in Italian structural and economic reforms. Leonardo Maisano, correspondent for the Italian financial daily Il Sole 24 Ore, moderated the panel which saw the participation of: Alessandro Castellano, CEO of SACE; Andrea de Vido, CEO of Banca Finanziaria Internazionale; Luca Peyrano, Head of Italy & Continental Europe Primary Markets, London Stock Exchange Group; Charlotte Roden, Head of Equity Sales, Mediobanca.
The Minister pointed out encouraging recent data on public and private debt, improvements regarding public deficit and the positive prospective of improvements taking place in Italy’s finance sector, following the stress tests which were conducted by the European Central Bank.
During the meetings, Minister Guidi acknowledged talents in the entrepreneurial world and stated “Italian entrepreneurs offer a perfect blend of know-how and innovation.”
Minister Guidi’s participation in today’s meetings ties in with other on-going events and meetings that are being promoted and coordinated by this Embassy with a view to providing London-based professionals working in finance with frequent updates on the status of Italian reforms and the outlook on investments in Italy.
