Italy’s Undersecretary of the Defence, Domenico Rossi, took part yesterday in the London Defence Ministerial on U.N peacekeeping reform, which takes place at a juncture in which UN operations are challenged by critical and rapidly evolving situations.
“The Italian commitment to the peacekeeping operations, which we consider as a natural decision, ensures that our country distinguishes itself concretely throughout its operations by adopting an integrated approach between the civilian and military components, based on cooperation, the strengthening of local communities and the promotion of the reconciliation processes.”
More than 80 delegations were in attendance, including Angelina Jolie, Special Envoy to the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
