The Italian ambassador, Pasquale Terracciano, has stated that the Embassy of Italy in London will be working with Milan to support the city’s bid to host the new headquarters of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). He has also commented that the embassy will be offering EMA employees a comprehensive range of assistance during the relocation process.
The bid was presented today at the Pirelli Building, the proposed location for the new headquarters, by Paolo Gentiloni, the Italian prime minister; Giuseppe Sala, the mayor of Milan; and Roberto Maroni, the president of the Lombardy region.
Milan meets all the criteria necessary to ensure that this vital regulatory agency can continue its operations uninterrupted during the transition, as well as offering an extremely attractive environment for EMA employees and their families. Milan is a cosmopolitan city, well connected to other major cities around Europe and offering excellent quality of life; an iconic and fully operational building is already available; and the region’s pharmaceutical research and business ecosystem are world-class.
The embassy in London has opened a dedicated web page and helpdesk for inquiries relating to EMA’s relocation.
