BonelliErede presents study on the potential of non-core economic sectors in EU markets, particularly Italy
Non-Core Asset Review in EU Markets for Selected Sectors, a study by Inspiratia, a leader in the analysis of the infrastructure sector, for the international law firm Bonelli Erede, was presented on 25 June at the Embassy of Italy in London. The study was led by Dr Daniel Atzori, the head of research at Inspiratia.
In his opening speech, the ambassador, Raffaele Trombetta, observed that investment in the non-core sector in Italy offers the advantage of large margins for growth and development.
The study focused on six classes of non-core assets, on the basis of various evaluation parameters – deal flow (the flow of investment opportunities that investors in risk capital look at), market risks and future prospects – in order to paint a picture of a market that emerged in large part following the 2007-2008 financial crisis. The results of the study are of particular interest for Italy, as they highlights certain sectors, including data centres, health and private assistance, that have strong growth potential and therefore also have the potential to attract new international investment to Italy.
Following the presentation of the study, a panel discussion was held on the current dynamics in the sector. The panellists included Vincent Levita, the head of InfraVia Capital; Mauricio Bolaña, a partner at Antin Infrastructure Partners; Carlo Michelini, the chief investment officer of F2i SGR, and Emmanuel Becker, the managing director of Equinix Italy, and the discussion was moderated by Mario Roli, a partner at BonelliErede.
