Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta was interviewed on Sky News “All Out Politics”, ahead of today’s meeting of the European Council. He mentioned that in dealing with the potential extension of Brexit negotiations, the EU council, and therefore also Italy, will be guided by two principles – namely, ensuring that there is an orderly exit, and to safeguard the functioning of the EU institutions.
Ambassador Trombetta added that Italy will continue its constructive approach towards dealing with Brexit, and at the same time, reminded that a no-deal Brexit would be the worst possible outcome – for the EU, the UK and Italy.
