In an interview this morning on BBC 4’s Today Programme Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta stressed the importance for Italians living in the United Kingdom to apply for the Home Office EU settlement scheme and invited them to do so promptly.
“I want to encourage Italians to register for the settled status – it’s something they have to do, that is good that they do. We are supporting them as much as possible”. Ambassador Trombetta also announced that the Embassy is about to launch a communication campaign in different cities of the Country to further clarify details about the settlement scheme and the consequences of Brexit.
The campaign will be carried out in coordination with the Italian consular network in the UK and will begin in Birmingham on 26 September. A second event will take place in Liverpool on 9 October.
