Talks, seminars and discussions on topics such as museums, scientific research, the movie industry and literature will be hosted online by the Embassy in partnership with British and Italian cultural, artistic and academic institutions.
#ItalyRestArt begins on 18 May with a talk on museums’ initiatives to continue to bring art to the public during times of crisis. The ambassador, Raffaele Trombetta, will speak to Gabriele Finaldi, director of the National Gallery, Matteo Lafranconi, director of the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome, Roberta Cremoncini, director of the Estorick Collection, Xavier Bray, director of the Wallace Collection and Katia Pizzi, director of the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
“Once we emerge from the pandemic, London and the UK will once more be drivers and global hubs of cultural and artistic trends,” said Ambassador Trombetta. “With #ItalyRestArt we are making sure that we will be ready for the that moment. To that end we will build on the pillars of Italy’s cultural presence around the world: art, literature, cinema, and scientific research. In collaboration with prestigious British institutions we are embracing modern technologies to continue our work to promote cultural ties between the UK and Italy.”
