The second Italian Symposium, organised by the United Italian Societies (UIS), took place last week in London and Oxford.
Founded in the UK in 2021, UIS brings together over 35 European and American universities. Its aim is to connect, promote and support Italian university students around the world, through cultural exchange and personal growth. The Italian Symposium is a valuable opportunity for the circulation of ideas and intergenerational exchange between the present and future actors on the Italian cultural scene. The initiative is supported by sponsors Intesa Sanpaolo and Trenitalia UK as well as by the Embassy of Italy, the Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
Ambassador Inigo Lambertini hosted one of the events of the Symposium at his residence on 1 March. The event, which focused on Italy’s presidency of the G7, was attended by students from all the Italian societies of UK universities.
During the event a message from Antonio Tajani, the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs, was read out, in which he demonstrated his appreciation for and good wishes towards the motivated, promising young audience.
