On the 20th of November, the Italian Embassy in London hosted a talk focused on Italian innovation in urban regeneration, organized by Arexpo, an Italian public company that transforms strategic areas through innovative public-private partnerships.
The goal of the event was to present the Italian model of urban regeneration, starting with a discussion of the Milano Innovation District (MIND). This project, which is managed by Arexpo, is a research and innovation hub that was born of the wish of Italian institutions to create an ecosystem to nurture socioeconomic development in the strategically located area that hosted Expo Milan 2015.
Two panel discussions were held: “A New Model of Urban Regeneration” and “New Frontier of Innovation Districts and Ecosystems”, both of which were moderated by Deborah Bonetti, Director of the Foreign Press Association.
The debate featured prominent figures, such as Sara Valaguzza, Professor of Administrative Law at the University of Milan; Armando De Crinito, General Director for Economic Development at the Lombardy Region; Francesco Svelto, Rector of the University of Pavia; Stefano Minini, Project Director of MIND; Fabrizio Grillo, President of Federated Innovation@MIND and Marco Baccanti, Managing Director of FITT.
