THE 28th EDITION
The 28th Venice Seminar took place from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 February 2024. The talks were held at Venice International University on San Servolo island on the afternoon of the Friday and all of Saturday. On the Friday evening Ambassador Lambertini hosted the tradiational gala dinner at the Monaco Gran Canal Hotel in San Marco.
The talks this year focused on Italy’s presidency of the G7, international security and defence, and Italy’s approach to the biggest global crises.
The guests of honour were Francesco Lollobrigida, the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests; and Alfredo Mantovano, the Undersecretary at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
The speakers featured were Father Paolo Benanti, the President of the Commission on Artificial Intelligence; Prof. Francesco Billari, the Rector of Luigi Bocconi University Milan; Luigi Federico Signorini, the Director General of the Banca d’Italia; Matteo Zoppas, the President of the Italian Trade Agency; Pasquale Salzano, the Chairman of SIMEST; Matteo Polistina, an expert on artificial intelligence at Ambrosetti House; and Ambassador Pasquale Ferrara, Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the Sunday the participants were invited to take part in a programme of exclusive cultural activities in the province of Treviso, near Venice, including the Museum of Print and Type and the Villa Sandi winery.
