The Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP), launched in September 2023 during the Pontignano Conference, was born out of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 27 April 2023 in London by the British and Italian prime ministers Rishi Sunak and Giorgia Meloni.
It is a programme for ten young professionals below the age of 40 who have shown particular leadership qualities in any sector (e.g. politics, business, defence, media, research, culture, sport, etc.) and who will be capable of setting up dialogues at the highest levels, proactively influencing the future of UK-Italy relations.
The young leaders selected will be invited to take part in a series of initiatives in London and Rome, such as visits to parliament, to ministries, to industrial associations, etc., with the aim of creating a network that will serve the relations between our countries in the future.
At the end of the experience, the participants will continue their work by becoming part of the Young Leaders Alumni network, through which they can continue to take part in initiatives promoting UK-Italy relations, and will mentor those who come after them.
Further information on the programme is available here.
Applications are open for the 2025 Young Leaders Programme (deadline 25 October 2024).
