Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon was triggered on 29 March 2017, beginning the UK’s exit from the European Union.
The Embassy of Italy in the UK, together with the Consulates General in London and Edinburgh, has set up an online assistance service (in Italian) to answer the questions of Italian citizens resident in the UK regarding their future status.
Soon after the result of the 2016 referendum, a section on Brexit was added to the embassy’s website, divided into three sections: News, giving periodic updates on Brexit-related developments; FAQs, which provides responses to the questions that have been most frequently addressed to the embassy and consulates in recent months; and Meetings, which provide notifications of meetings, organised by this Embassy and the Consulate General in London, to discuss specific matters relating to Brexit.
Any questions that are not answered in the FAQ section on the embassy’s website may be addressed to londra.brexit@esteri.it
