Representatives of the UK branch of the National Association of Alpine Troops, with Ambassador Terracciano
The Italian Ambassador to the UK, Pasquale Terracciano, this morning received Sergent Adolfo Dellapina at the embassy. Dellapina, who recently celebrated his 95th birthday, fought with the 8th Italian Army in Russia during the Second World War.
Dellapina was born in Borgo Val di Taro, in the province of Parma. After the war he moved to Scotland for a short period, following which he moved to London, where he has now spent most of his life.
This morning he met the ambassador and Admiral Gianluigi Reversi, the military attaché for the UK, as well as representatives of the National Association of Alpine Troops, GB (Associazione Nazionale Alpini). The British branch of the association was the first to be founded outside Italy, in 1928, and is one of the most active ones. The association will hold its national assembly in Treviso on 12-14 May, which will be attended by many of the representatives from the UK branch.
