Marco Niada is made a Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy

Marco Niada received the insignia of the rank of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy (Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia) on 12 January. The decoration was presented by Pasquale Terracciano, the Italian ambassador to the United Kingdom, on behalf of the Italian president.

Mr. Niada was the London correspondent for Il Sole 24 Ore from 1993 to 2008, a period during which the UK, and in particular London, experienced major economic and social changes. His reporting and analysis were instrumental in helping his readers follow developments during this time.

Marco Niada is currently a partner at Finsbury, a company that provides public-relations services for the financial industry, and in this role he promotes the interests of Italian businesses.

He is also a co-founder and chairman of Arghosha Faraway Schools, an association that supports education programmes in remote areas of Afghanistan. Arghosha has funded the construction of 11 schools since 2005, helping transform the lives of numerous children and their families.
